As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating a state-of-the-art Infrastructure as Code (IaC) landscape in one of the most challenging and highly regulated environments: financial markets. You will design, automate, and secure modern cloud-native platforms that ensure the highest standards of reliability, compliance, and scalability.In close collaboration with software engineers, architects, and security specialists, you will drive the automation of infrastructure and deployment processes, enforce robust staging concepts across development, test, and production environments, and ensure smooth integration between classic IT, event-driven architectures, and emerging Web3/DLT technologies.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance, and who wants to shape the foundations of secure and innovative financial infrastructure.

Your Tasks

Environments: Build and maintain development, test, and production environments in cloud environments, applying robust staging concepts.
Infrastructure as Code: Design, implement, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Containers & Orchestration: Manage container technologies (Docker) and orchestrate them via Kubernetes, integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
CI/CD: Develop and maintain CI/CD processes (e.g., GitLab), ensuring secure, automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
APIs: Connect, integrate, and manage APIs between back-end and front-end applications.
Automation & Reliability: Automate infrastructure processes with a strong focus on reliability, observability, and compliance.
DevSecOps: Implement DevSecOps practices, integrating security scanning and monitoring tools into the deployment pipeline.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure design with business and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring to the Table

Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in platform engineering with strong IaC expertise, ideally in a regulated environment (finance or crypto preferred).
Education: University degree in computer science, information security, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
Security & compliance: Strong understanding of security aspects, compliance with regulation and its impact on development
Project management & communication: Experience managing long-term projects, coordinating with stakeholders, and mitigating risks; strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; German skills are a strong plus.
Strategic mindset: Ability to combine a hands-on, operational approach with a forward-looking view to align security measures with business objectives.
